With his book &ldquo\;Legends &\; Lore of Somerset County\,&rdquo\; as a basis\, the evening&rsquo\;s tales may i nclude an encounter with the Dead River Witch of Liberty Corner that is li nked with the unsolved disappearance of a nine-year-old girl\; the alleged Revolutionary War spy John Honeyman who never stopped telling tall tales about himself\, even after his death\; and the Pluckemin orbs (more than 6 \,000 years old) that frightened Native Americans\, intrigued artists\, an d still defy explanation. Haynes will also tell attendees where they can g o in Somerset County for some firsthand folklore experience.
