Cowley will discuss how and why she became an FBI profiler\, what profiling is (and isn&rsquo\;t)\, and some of the most memorable cases in her career. Cowley is currently an adjunct profess or at Bay Path University and serves as co-host on the podcast "The Consul t."
\nCowley has been a Special Agent with the FBI since 1999. Her f irst assignment was to the Boston Division where she investigated white-co llar crime\, public corruption\, and civil rights matters. She was also a member and team leader on the Boston Division's Evidence Response Team. Ju lia was then selected to join the FBI's Behavioral Analysis Unit\, followe d by assignment to the Evidence Response Team Unit. Julia is currently ass igned to the Boston Division's Springfield office where she focuses on pub lic corruption and civil rights investigations. Prior to joining the FBI\, Julia was a Special Agent/Forensic Scientist with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation. She has a bachelor's degree in chemistry from the Universi ty of Oregon and a master's degree in forensic science from The George Was hington University. She is certified in Behavioral Analysis by the FBI and was the lead FBI profiler on the Golden State Killer case.
