Co-authors Giffels and Dellinger come together with longtime friend Bob Et hington for a moderated discussion to share their rock biography "The Begi nning Was the End: Devo in Ohio"

Jade Dellinger is director of the B ob Rauschenberg Gallery at Florida Southwestern State College where he has curated shows\, commissioned installations\, hosted lectures\, and held p erformances with artists including the Guerilla Girls\, Yoko Ono\, Laurie Anderson\, the Go-Go's Jane Wiedlin\, and Devo's Gerald Casale.â€¯He f irst invited Mark Mothersbaugh to the Sunshine State in 1999 for a project with the Contemporary Art Museum in Tampa\, but most recently world-premi ered the Devo frontman's "POSTCARDS FOR DEMOCRACY" exhibition (with collab orator Beatie Wolfe) at the Rauschenberg Gallery in 2021.

David Giffels \;is the author of six books of nonfiction\, most recently "Barnsto rming Ohio: To Understand America" (Hachette Books 2020)\, one of Library Journal&rsquo\;s Best Books of 2020. His other books include the memoirs " Furnishing Eternity" (Scribner 2018) and "All the Way Home" (William Morro w 2008)\, both winners of the Ohioana Book Award\, and "The Hard Way on Pu rpose" (Scribner 2014)\, a New York Times Book Review "Editors' Choice." H is writing has appeared in the New York Times Magazine\, The Atlantic\, Pa rade\, The Iowa Review\, Esquire\, Grantland\, and many other publications . He is professor of English at the University of Akron and serves on the faculty of the NEOMFA creative writing program.

Bob Ething ton: \;Acting as moderator\, longtime friend Bob Ethington\, formerly the manager of the Culture &\; AV Division at Main Library\, h osts a weekly podcast for The Summit 91.3< /a> FM called "From Akron and Beyond\," which is about local music\, artis ts\, writers\, and more\, including interviews and music selections. As a retired librarian\, Bob keeps busy as a podcast host and drummer.

If you wish to purchase a Main Event: Many Voices speaker's recently released title during their event\, you will find The Friends of Main Library located in the Atrium before and after each event. Author book signing will follow each event located in t he hallway beside the auditorium.
