Grace has had h er work banned and has written about the effects of censorship on creators \, educators\, and readers. \nPresenter Bios:
\nGrace Ellis \;is a New York Times-bestselling\, GLAAD Media A ward&ndash\;winning author and script writer. Born and raised in Ohio\, sh e studied theater and journalism at Ohio State University. Her graphic nov els include the much-lauded "Lumberjanes\," the long-running "Moonstruck\, " and several pieces for DC Comics. Her latest book\, "Flung Out of Space: Inspired by the Indecent Adventures of Patricia Highsmith\," was a New Yo rk Times Notable Book of 2022 and won the 2023 Eisner Award for Best Reali ty-Based Work. In 2022\, Grace was given an Ohio Individual Excellence Awa rd in playwriting for "Holding It Together\," a site-specific play for hig h schools. Her next DC book\, DIANA AND THE HERO&rsquo\;S JOURNEY\, is out fall 2023. Grace lives in Columbus\, Ohio\, where she can often be found eating ice cream or petting a cat.

\nDan Gearino is a writer and reporter in Columbus\, Ohio. Since 2018\ , he has covered the business of clean energy and the Midwest for \;Inside C limate News. From 2008 to 2018\, he wrote on the business desk f or The Columbus Dispatch. Previously\, he was a newspaper (and occasional radio) reporter\, first in New Hampshire\, where he covered the 2004 presi dential primary\, and then in his native Iowa\, where he covered the 2008 caucuses. By night\, he writes about comics. He is the author of the 2017 book \;CO MIC SHOP\, and is a board member for \;Cartoon Crossroads Columbus\, a nonprofit arts organization that puts on an annual festival celebrat ing comics and the cartoon arts. He lives in Columbus with his much better half and their two daughters.
