X-ALT-DESC;FMTTYPE=text/html:<p>All are welcome to this free presentation
by "Hudson Bay Bound" author Natalie Warren\, as she shares her experience
 s of making a groundbreaking\, 2\,000-mile canoe journey\, as well as her
work to record that journey in this book.</p>\n<p>Doors will open at 6:30
p.m.&nbsp\;<br />Admission is free\; books will be available for purchase
from Zandbroz Variety. This program is offered free-of-charge thanks to fu
nding from the Minnesota Arts &amp\; Cultural Heritage Fund.&nbsp\;</p>\n<
p>The book tells the remarkable 85-day journey of the first women to canoe
the 2\,000-mile route from Minneapolis to Hudson Bay. Following the route
made famous by Eric Sevareid in his 1935 classic &ldquo\;Canoeing with th
e Cree\,&rdquo\; Natalie Warren and Ann Raiho faced unexpected trials\, so
me harrowing and some simply odd. Along the way\, the two friends encounte
r occasional pitfalls that test character and friendship. Warren&rsquo\;s
account retraces the women&rsquo\;s journey from inspiration to Arctic wat
ers\, giving readers an insider view from the practicalities of planning a
three-month canoe expedition to the successful accomplishment of the adve
nture of a lifetime. The book follows these modern women (and their dog) a
s they recreate this historic trip\, including the pleasures and perils\,
the sexism\, the social and environmental implications and the enduring wo
 nder of the wilderness.</p>\n<p>Read the Book:<br /><a href="https://www.g
