 aying: My work explores an often overlooked side of embroidery: the struct
 ural possibilities versus the inherent fragility of thread.This class will
  explore hand embroidery to create botanical designs that explore texture 
 and color.&nbsp\;Much of my current work deals with natural systems and en
 vironments. I translate environmental phenomena like clouds\, flowers or i
 ce into embroidery. I would love to share this exploration of the natural 
 world through thread in this workshop exploring leaves\, flowers and botan
 y.&nbsp\;In this workshop\, explore using Sulky&reg\; Sticky water soluble
  stabilizer by creating an embroidered botanical design held together with
  hand embroidery. Students will trace a botanical design from a series of 
 provided drawings and will translate this into textile with collaging thre
 ads\, wool\, fabrics and yarns with stitched line. Students will learn how
  to work with water soluble stabilizer and will explore texture\, pattern 
 and line with hand embroidery to create a one of a kind piece. Running sti
 tch\, chain stitch\, couching stitch\, french knots and seed stitches will
