X-ALT-DESC;FMTTYPE=text/html:<p>Research shows that LGBTQ+ youth experienc
e a high rate of traumatizing events in their everyday lives. Some of thes
e events are small microaggressions\, while many events have a more pervas
ive and damaging impact. Traumatic experiences have been shown to have adv
erse effects on neurological and developmental functioning in the long ter
 m\, and can result in anxiety\, depression\, substance abuse\, self-harm b
ehaviors\, and suicidality in the immediate term.&nbsp\;Parents\, caregive
rs\, neighbors\, educators\, and those in community support roles can help
mitigate the effects of these traumatic experiences with LGBTQ+ youth. Th
is program will provide allies and supporters with increased knowledge and
awareness of the traumas these youth experience\, and will equip them wit
h skills to identify and respond to these traumatic events in ways that mi
nimize harm.&nbsp\;</p>\n<p>Workshop will be led by two licensed professio
nals with expertise assisting providing therapy for complex trauma issues.
