 niques\, and learn about research basics and vital records such as birth\,
  church\, marriage\, and death certificates.&nbsp\; Additional time will b
 e set aside for returning patrons to share their summer discoveries.</p>\n
 <p><strong>Sept. 23 &ndash\; Virtual Genealogy Clinic</strong></p>\n<p>Par
 ticipants will attend to discuss progress of their personal genealogy rese
 arch.&nbsp\; Sharing\, Q &amp\;&nbsp\; As\, and FAQs will be addressed.</p
 >\n<p><strong>Oct. 7 &ndash\; Health Literacy</strong></p>\n<p>Attendees w
 ill explore the relationship between health and genealogy.&nbsp\; Patrons 
 will consider fundamental basics of medical genealogy as they examine fami

 trong>Nov. 4 - Cemetery Research</strong></p>\n<p>Participants will explor
 e cemetery and vital records such as death certificates\, military records
 \, and online support tools available for historical family history resear

 rticipants will attend to discuss progress of their personal genealogy res

 p>\n<p><strong>Dec\, 2 &ndash\; Holiday Traditions: Foodways for the Soul<
 /strong></p>\n<p>Attendees will explore&nbsp\; significance of foodways in
  family history and research as they consider roles that recipes\, family 
 heirlooms\, and memoirs play in their personal explorations of their kin.<
 /p>\n<p><strong>Jan. 13\, 2024 &ndash\; Family Resolutions</strong></p>\n<
 p>Patrons will examine principles of Ma'at and the strength of their famil

 n American Research Library and Cultural Center&nbsp\;</strong><br /><a hr
 ef="https://www.broward.org/Library/Pages/BranchDetails.aspx?branchInfo=1"
 >The&nbsp\;Broward County African American Research Library and Cultural C
 enter&nbsp\;(AARLCC)</a>&nbsp\;is located in the Sistrunk community\, one 
 of the oldest historically Black communities named for one of Fort Lauderd
 ale&rsquo\;s first Black physicians. Opening to the public on October 26\,
  2002\, AARLCC became the third public library of its kind in the United S
 tates dedicated to the study of Black history and culture. The 60\,000 squ
 are-foot Center serves as a repository of materials related to the local\,
  national\, and international voices of the African diaspora with more tha
 n 85\,000 books\, manuscripts\, artifacts\, framed art\, print\, photograp
 hy\, audiovisual\, and documents held in our Adult Services Section and Sp
 ecial Collections. The Youth Services Section features a special collectio
 n of Coretta Scott King Award books and the&nbsp\;Ashley Bryan Art Collect
 ion&nbsp\;from illustrators of African Descent. AARLCC also features a 5\,
 000 sq. ft. museum\, a 300-seat state-of-the-art theatre\, and a Computer
