 \, Egyptologist and Princeton PhD Candidate\, Emily Smith-Sangster\, will 
 take us on a journey through an excavation.</p>\n<p>Using her recent excav
 ation at the site of Abydos\, Egypt as a case study\, she will cover every
 thing from proposing an excavation project\, to the thrill of discovering 
 a new cemetery - and everything in between. This program will also touch b
 riefly on some of the most popular topics associated with Egypt and Egypto
 logy.</p>\n<p>Presenter: Emily Smith-Sangster is a current Ph.D. Candidate
  at Princeton University studying the expression of identity in the early 
 New Kingdom (ca. 1550 BCE). She has been granted two M.A.&rsquo\;s\, the f
 irst from NYU in Ancient Near Eastern and Egyptian Studies\, and the secon
 d From Princeton University in Art and Archaeology and a B.A. from Monmout
 h University in Anthropology. Emily is also an active field archaeologist 
 currently serving as an excavation supervisor for the Abydos South Project
