  other lithic tools but nevertheless\, it comes with a long and varied his
 tory and played a critical role in how early humans both stored and prepar
 ed food. The earliest documented pottery hails from China and can be dated
  to about twenty thousand years ago.</p>\n<p>In this program\, we will be 
 examining samples of pottery shards from Florida and other Southern states
  that can range in age from a thousand to four thousand years old\, as wel
 l as several complete pots. You'll be shown some traditional sculpting and
  shaping techniques that you'll then use to build your very own clay pot t
 o take home!</p>\n<p>Seating is limited and registration is required. Plea
