 er\, guitarist and singer-songwriter from Kyoto\, Japan. He began playing 
 the five-string banjo when he was thirteen\, and took up the guitar shortl
 y after.</p>\n<p>In 2018\, he won 2nd place in the International Finger St
 yle Guitar Championship.&nbsp\; In 2000\, he received a scholarship to Ber
 klee College of Music. While in Boston he formed his own group\, Interocea
 nico\, made up of musicians from different continents including Latin Gram
 my Colombian singer Marta Gomez. The group released three acclaimed record
 s:&nbsp\;<em>The Other Side of the World</em>\, <em>Confluencia</em> and <
 em>Where the River Shines</em>.</p>\n<p>Hiroya has released three solo alb
 ums (<em>Solo</em>\, <em>Heartland</em> and <em>Places</em>). He leads con
 certs internationally including several appearances at Blue Note (NYC)\, U
