X-ALT-DESC;FMTTYPE=text/html:<p>Join us for an insightful evening of civic
discussion at Hillyard Library\, in partnership with the League of Women
Voters. As part of a series of forums across the city\, this event is dedi
cated to introducing the candidates running for the City Council seat in D
istrict 1 for the 2023 general election.</p>\n<p>Candidates will have the
opportunity to present their visions for Spokane followed by a moderated d
iscussion and an audience Q&amp\;A.</p>\n<p>Our moderator will be Spokane
Public Library's own Leonard Kransdorf. Leonard currently serves as a libr
ary clerical assistant\, but his former career was as a journalist\, worki
ng and writing at newspapers from Florida to North Dakota. He has experien
ce both interviewing candidates as well as moderating similar candidate fo
rums.</p>\n<p>Being informed is key to making confident decisions at the b
allot box. This forum provides a platform for candidates to share their pe
rspectives and plans\, while also allowing the community to gain a deeper
understanding of their potential representatives.</p>\n<p>While this is on
e of several forums taking place in various districts\, each event is tail
ored to the unique concerns and interests of its respective district. We e
ncourage residents District 2 to attend\, engage\, and make their voices h
eard.</p>\n<p>Come be a part of this vital civic engagement process and co
nnect with the individuals aiming to shape the future of our city.</p>\n<p
 >By attending library programs\, you are agreeing to potentially appear in
photos/videos taken at our locations that may be used in promotional mate
rials including social media.</p>\n<p>We strive to make events welcoming f
or people of all abilities.&nbsp\;To request accommodations (i.e. hearing
