This fall\, LA County Library offers a ser ies of virtual roundtable conversations exploring the intersections betwee n community service in libraries and in faith organizations. These interfa ith dialogues will bring together religious leaders from a diversity of tr aditions to discuss the ways in which libraries and faith-based organizati ons can work side by side to encourage soulful wellbeing in our communitie s. The purpose of these conversations is to encourage a broader understand ing of the types of organizations that provide care and service to our com munities\, an understanding that promotes opportunities for partnership an d connection between libraries and faith organizations. \;
\nThe third event in this series is titled &ldquo\;Putting It Into Practice\,&rdquo\; and will focus on the techniques and reso urces used in our organizations to deliver support or inspiration to membe rs of our communities. \;How do service providers and religious leader s determine what communities and individuals need to thrive\, and what met hods are used in providing care? Joining the conversation this week are Re v. Jana Milhon-Martin\, Rabbi Heather Miller\, and Nirinjan Singh Khalsa. \;
\nThe Rev. Jana Milhon-Martin is an Episcop al priest and CPE Diplomate Supervisor. She currently serves as the Direct or for The Center for Lay Chaplaincy in the Los Angeles Episcopal Diocese. Rabbi Heather Miller is the founder of Keeping It Sacred \, a global community dedicated to the intrepid exploration of sacred text s\, the practice of meaningful rituals\, and the unwavering pursuit of soc ial justice. Nirinjan Singh Khalsa has served as a Commis sioner on the City of Los Angeles Human Relations Commission for more than fifteen years and is the Executive Director of the California Sikh Counci l. \;
