 ts the Fort Peck Assiniboine &amp\; Sioux Tribes of northeast Montana\, in
  cultural preservation as the Cultural Resource Department Director. Her p
 osition also serves as the Tribes&rsquo\; historic preservation officer (T
 HPO)\, museum curator\, archivist\, and conducts field surveys on her rese
 rvation lands. Ms. Youpee&rsquo\;s father created the department for the T
 ribes&rsquo\; in 1995\, where she grew up watching her fathers&rsquo\; eff
 orts of cultural preservation. Today she&rsquo\;s a practitioner of embedd
 ed generational knowledge\, as well as exploring new evolving career pract
 ices that she balances with her cultural upbringing. Ms. Youpee believes h
 er work is most dedicated to acknowledging her ancestors (her father) and 
 to the future lineage yet to be born. She will be presenting on her work a
 s Tribal Historic Preservation Officer.&nbsp\;</p>\n<p>Ms. Youpee graduate
 d an A.A. in American Indian Studies\, A.A.S. in Business Technology\, and
  B.A. in Anthropology. She recently won the National Association of Tribal
  Historic Preservation Officers Excellence Award this past February\, and 
 is pursuing a masters degree in CRM at St. Cloud State University\, MN.</p
