 d\, award-winning songwriter and actor\, who uses music and drama to celeb
 rate her indigenous roots\, and the native peoples of the Chesapeake Bay. 
 Ferrante leads culturally responsive residencies as a national teaching ar
 tist with the Wolf Trap Foundation\, as well as Young Audiences of Marylan
 d and the Everyman Theatre. Ferrante's grandmother was a hunter and trappe
 r of Potawatomi and Pawnee descent. Through her story\, ancestral song\, a
 nd steady rhythm\, we will celebrate our land&mdash\; built on the ancestr
 al hunting ground of many First Nations. Participants will &ldquo\;catch&r
 dquo\; things using imagination\, embody animals through dramatic play\, a
 nd experience how local/native animals represent virtues that can speak to
  us today. <strong>This program is intended for children in pre-kindergart
 en through 2nd grade\, accompanied by a caregiver.&nbsp\;</strong>Sponsore
