  DC Public Library Foundation.</strong> She will be available for book sig
 ning immediately after the event.</p>\n<p>Carole Lindstrom is the author o
 f the Fall 2023 Beyond the Book featured title\, <em>We Are Water Protecto
 rs</em>\, which won The Caldecott Medal for its illustrations by Michaela

 margin: 0px 20px 20px 0px\;" />Carole Lindstrom is a&nbsp\;<em>New York Ti
 mes</em>&nbsp\;bestselling and award-winning author of literature for youn
 g people\, including the Caldecott Medal-winning <em>We Are Water Protecto
 rs</em>. She is Anishinaabe/Metis and an enrolled member of the Turtle Mou
 ntain Band of Ojibwe. She is honored to write books that allow her to shin
 e a light on her beautiful people and their strength and resilience. Her t
 ribal homelands are in Belcourt\, North Dakota\, but she was born and rais
 ed in Nebraska and currently makes her home in Maryland.</p>\n<p>Carole ha
 s been a voracious reader and library geek ever since she was growing up i
 n Nebraska. On weekends you could usually find her at the library lost in 
 the book stacks or holed up in her bedroom with a good book. It wasn&rsquo
 \;t until she had her son\, that she discovered her love of writing for ch
 ildren and began to work seriously on her writing.</p>\n<h4>About Beyond t
