The Great Lakes region was once home to ma ny indigenous tribes\, including the myaamia - the downstream people. HEPL welcomes Logan York\, Tribal Historic Preservation Officer for the Miami Tribe of Oklahoma. Logan will teach us about the history of the myaamia pe ople\, 1700s to present\, with an emphasis on how the Miami Tribe is thriv ing today. The 45-minute presentation will be followed by Q&\;A\, as we ll as time to explore physical artifacts.
\nThis program will take p lace in-person at the Fishers library\, along with an option to join virtu ally via Zoom. Registration is required to receive the Zoom meeting invita tion. In-person attendance is strongly encouraged. Registration for in-per son attendance encouraged but not required. All ages are welcome.
