The Pickerington Public Library is excited to announce that we have been selected to receive a National Endowment fo r the Arts (NEA) Big Read grant! Join us at 4:00 p.m. for the Kick-off to pick up free copies of four titles selected for the program. At 4:30 p.m.\ , attend a presentation by Dreams on Horseback to learn about their equine therapy programs\, and at 5:00 p.m. meet their miniature therapy horses!< /p>\n
The grant will support a community reading program focused on Sitt ing Pretty: The View from My Ordinary Resilient Disabled Body by Rebekah T aussig\, and three companion novels for teens\, middle grade\, and early r eaders. The NEA Big Read offers a range of titles that reflect many differ ent voices and ideas\, aiming to inspire conversations\, artistic response s\, and new discoveries and connections in each community. Other Pickering ton Library events for this program will take place in March 2024 and focu s on the themes of Accessibility\, Inclusion\, and Disability Advocacy.&nb sp\;
