  photographs and stories\, meet a group of Central Ohio residents who were
  once forced to flee their homes and become among the millions of refugees
  who have found hope and resilience in the face of adversity.<br />Through
  the lens of award-winning photographer Tariq Tarey\, discover how these i
 ndividuals endured their arduous journeys to find a place to rebuild their
  lives. They aren&rsquo\;t just numbers. They are people with stories to s
 hare. Come and be inspired by their resilience\,&nbsp\;from Struggle to St
 rength.</p>\n<p><strong>About Tariq Tarey</strong></p>\n<p>Tariq Tarey is 
 currently the Director of Refugee Social Services at Jewish Family Service
 s in Columbus\, Ohio. He serves on Ohio&rsquo\;s New African Immigrants Co
 mmission and the Franklin County Board of Commissioner&rsquo\;s New Americ
 an Advisory Council.&nbsp\;</p>\n<p>Tariq is also a documentary photograph
 er\, skilled in both still photography and filmmaking.&nbsp\;&nbsp\;</p>\n
 <p>Tariq&rsquo\;s exhibition &ldquo\;Bhutanese-Nepali Neighbors&rdquo\; wa
 s on display at the Ohio History Connection throughout 2017 and was nomina
 ted for the Community Arts Partnership Award by the Greater Columbus Arts 
 Council. In 2018 &ldquo\;Bhutanese-Nepali Neighbors&rdquo\; exhibit won th
 e Ohio Museums Associations best of show.</p>\n<p>Tariq directed &ldquo\;W
 omen\, War and Resettlement: Nasro&rsquo\;s Journey\,&rdquo\; which was ai
 red on WOSU Public Television in 2012.&nbsp\; Moreover\, Tariq&rsquo\;s fi
 lm\, &ldquo\;The Darien Gap\,&rdquo\; was shown in the 2nd United States C
 onference on African Immigrant and Refugee Health.&nbsp\;</p>\n<p>Among Ta
 riq&rsquo\;s honors are the South Side Settlement House&rsquo\;s Arts Free
 dom Award in 2006 and the Ohio Art Council&rsquo\;s Individual Artist Awar
 d in 2008 and in that same year Tariq won the Greater Columbus Art Council
 &rsquo\;s Individual Artist Award.</p>\n<p>Currently\, Tariq is working on
  a book project documenting representative refugee populations in Central
