Andover&rsquo\;s Bob Frishman is January&r squo\;s guest curator at Memorial Hall Library for an exhibit of paintings \, prints and art-photographs with clocks and watches in the scenes. Bob&r squo\;s clock-repair business\, Bell-Time Clocks\, has operated in town si nce 1993\, but he has retired from repairing and now focuses on writing\, lecturing\, and creating exhibits about the history\, technology\, and vit al cultural importance of timekeeping.
\nBob displays more than twen ty artworks from his personal collection. These include an 1830&rsquo\;s o il-on-canvas portrait of an English woman with a watch\, a Berenice Abbott 1929 photograph of a New York City watchmaker&rsquo\;s shop\, a 1919 Norm an Rockwell magazine cover with a cuckoo clock\, a 1922 Swiss Longines wat ch poster with Father Time\, and much more.
\nOn Saturday\, January 6th\, Bob will present an illustrated lecture about his exhibit. \; He also will present many more examples from his collection of original artw orks and from the two thousand digital images he has collected\, ranging f rom Rembrandt to Warhol. \;
\nThe exhibit will be on display in the circulation area on level 1 during the month of January. \;
