In May of 2023\, at just 29 years old\, Re becca Long became only the 14th US Women under the age of 30 to successful ly summit Mt. \nRebecca is an experienced global mountaineer who\, in addition to Everest \, has summited significant mountains in both North and South America. In order to attempt Everest\, Rebecca left her successful job in finance when her employer balked at allowing her unpaid leave so she could seize the d ay and pursue her lifelong dream of climbing the highest mountain in the w orld. On the Everest expedition she constantly encountered and overcame ne ar-death experiences as well as brutal weather conditions. She experienced tragedy first-hand when her team climber and friend\, Jonathan\, died at Camp 2. \;Following that tragedy and faced with an increasingly conten tious team dynamic at camp\, Rebecca stood up for herself in a male-domina ted team to succeed on the mountain. \;
