 nternationally recognized educator and advocate of human rights. Her focus
  is on women&rsquo\;s rights in cross-cultural perspectives. She has writt
 en extensively on the issues facing immigrant women in Canada\, and cultur
 ally rooted gender-based violence.&nbsp\;For the past four decades\,&nbsp\
 ;Aruna&nbsp\;has also worked as a Policy Analyst for the government. Her b
 ook &ldquo\;Unworthy Creature: A Punjabi Daughter&rsquo\;s Memoir of Honou
 r\, Shame and Love&rdquo\; is on recommended reading lists in several univ
