Just as people trained in CPR help save th ousands of lives each year\, people trained in QPR learn how to recognize the warning signs of a suicide crisis and how to question\, persuade\, and refer someone to help. QPR is an emergency mental health intervention for suicidal persons that any community member can provide. The intent of whi ch is to identify and interrupt the crisis and direct that person to the p roper care.
\nBy participating in QPR Gatekeeper training\, you will learn about:
\n&bull\; Early Recognition of suicide | The sooner wa rning signs are detected and help sought\, the better the outcome of a sui cidal crisis will be.
\n&bull\; Early QPR | Asking someone about the presence of suicidal thoughts and feelings opens up a conversation that m ay lead to a referral for help.
\n&bull\; Early intervention and ref erral | Referral to local resources or calling for evaluation and possible referral is critical. \;
\nThis event is for adults and teens.
