 strong>.</p>\n<p>Wearing era-appropriate clothing Cooper interprets the li
 fe of Truth\, who was born into slavery in New York state. In 1826 she esc
 aped to freedom with her infant daughter and two years later she successfu
 lly sued to win the freedom of her son\, the first to do so against a whit
 e man. She later went on to deliver a famous speech in Akron\, Ohio to the
  Ohio Women's Right Convention and during the American Civil War she helpe
