DESCRIPTION:In this two-part workshop series\, learn how to craft your own
  memoir and develop your writing skills with local author\, Nikki Everts.

 ect\, participants will explore different memoir types\, learn how memoiri
 sts can &ldquo\;hook&rdquo\; their readers\, build their writing skills\, 
 and take next steps in developing their own memoirs.</p>\n<p>While not req
 uired\, participants will have opportunities to read their writing to the 
 group and receive positive feedback. This benefits both listeners and writ
 ers: by listening carefully for the gems in another&rsquo\;s prose\, liste
 ners gain inspiration for their own writing\, and by learning what works i
 n their texts\, writers can build on their successes.</p>\n<p>There will b
 e a 15-minute break midway during each session.</p>\n<p>Participants will 
 have homework to complete for use during the second session.</p>\n<p>After
  attending this workshop\, you will have:</p>\n<ul>\n<li>An outline for yo
 ur memoir</li>\n<li>A good start on the first draft of at least one chapte
 r</li>\n<li>Writing tips to enhance readability</li>\n<li>Listening skills
 </li>\n<li>New writing companions.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><b>About the Instructor

 is a Guelph poet\, author\, facilitator of writing workshops\, and provide
