 >Tom Mulczynski</strong></em> </span>is a retired economist\, a mushroom f
an since the fifth grade\, and has been growing mushrooms ever since he le
arned to grow shiitakes on logs in June of 2017.&nbsp\; Since then he has
cultivated over sixteen different types of mushrooms\, both indoors and ou
tside in his garden and around the house. While he&rsquo\;s waiting for mu

<em><strong>UME Master Gardeners</strong></em> are volunteers who combine
their love of plants\, people\, and the environment to help residents in t
heir communities solve problems and make environmentally-sound decisions.&
nbsp\;They support the University of Maryland Extension (UME) mission by e
ducating residents about safe\, effective and sustainable horticultural pr
actices that build healthy gardens\, landscapes\, and communities. The UME
Master Gardener Program began in 1978 as a means to extend science-based
knowledge to the general public by providing horticultural and pest manage
ment expertise to help protect and improve Maryland&rsquo\;s natural resou
rces. Today\, this popular program can be found in 20 Maryland counties an
 d Baltimore City.&nbsp\;</p>\n<p></p>\n<p>Take a look at these resources a
