\nMy greatest goal in life is to get more f amilies around the dinner table.
\nIf we haven&rsquo\;t met yet\, I& rsquo\;m Kristyn\, the Cooking Instructor\, History Teacher\, Menu Planner \, Nutrition Coach\, and Blogger around Classroom Kitchen.
\nIf we h ave met before\, you&rsquo\;re a lucky soul. Just kidding\, but I am so gl ad you decided to see what I&rsquo\;m all about!
\nThe Slick Family was established in 2007 when Brian and I were married. We enjoyed travelin g for a few years and settling into our careers before deciding to start a family. We have have two kiddos and a dog who think he&rsquo\;s a third c hild. \; \;We lead very full lives: hockey\, piano lessons\, girl scouts\, active church members\, and as much family time we can muster bet ween all the things.
\nEver since I was in 4th grade I have wanted t o be a teacher. I received my Elementary Education degree at Lewis Univers ity and before even officially walking the graduation stage I had a 7th gr ade position teaching Language Arts and Social Studies.
\nMy career path took a sharp turn\, however\, after I was diagnosed with anxiety and depression in my 7th year of teaching. For my own health and the wellness of my family I left my full time teaching position to stay home with my th en 3.5 and 1 year old. After a year of regrouping\, getting well\, and foc using on me I rejoined the work force and decided to become a short-term c onsultant with Pampered Chef. \; \;My cooking tool kit arrived wit hin a few days and I quickly realized that my short-term decision was goin g to be long-term dedication to &ldquo\;Making Family Mealtime a Priority& rdquo\;!
\nI left Pampered Chef in the fall of 2021 to dedicate all my time and energy to A Clas sroom Kitchen. No more safety nets for this girl! \; I am so excit ed but also a bit nervous. \; I am so glad you are on this journey wit h me and I can&rsquo\;t wait to show you what I have in store for you and your families.
\nSo here I am today better than ever! Cooking and te aching and sharing all the food pictures (yes I am THAT person). \; I want to give everyone the tools and confidence to achieve their wellness a nd cooking goals.
