 </p>\n<p><strong>ABOUT THE AUTHOR</strong></p>\n<p><strong>Nancy Kerrigan<
 /strong>&nbsp\;began competing at the national level in 1991 when she plac
 ed 3rd at the U.S. Figure Skating Championships\, allowing her to qualify 
 for the 1991 World Championships where she won the bronze medal as part of
  an American sweep.</p>\n<p>In 1992\, she earned a bronze medal in the Alb
 ertville Winter Olympics and the silver medal at the 1992 World Championsh
 ips. In 1993 Kerrigan became the United States Ladies Champion and followe
 d that up with her historic silver medal performance at the 1994 Lillehamm
 er Winter Olympics.</p>\n<p>Nancy is currently executive producing the upc
 oming documentary&nbsp\;Why Don&rsquo\;t You Lose 5 lbs&nbsp\;which will e
 xamine the silent epidemic of eating disorders in sports as well as the fe
 ature film&nbsp\;Fire and Ice&nbsp\;which is being produced by Picturestar
 t. Nancy was on the Advisory Board for the Aurora Games\, an international
  platform for women in sports and entertainment. Nancy&rsquo\;s first chil
 dren&rsquo\;s book&nbsp\;Stronger Than She Thinks&nbsp\;was published in N
 ovember 2023.</p>\n<p><strong>ABOUT THE BOOK</strong></p>\n<p><em><strong>
 Stronger Than She Thinks</strong></em>&nbsp\;shares how Nancy (age 8) and 
 her family sacrifice time\, money\, and effort into her clear skill\, tale
 nt\, and passion for figure skating. She&rsquo\;s really good at it\, but 
 money is tight while she&rsquo\;s learning to land the hardest of figure s
 kating jumps&mdash\;the axel. And she must be able to do one in order to g
 o to her first competition.</p>\n<p>Her skates are too small\, her feet hu
 rt\, but try after try\, she gets up off the ice and takes another turn ar
 ound the ice until she finally lands that first (wobbly) axel and then lan
 ds it solidly at her first competition. Persistence\, hard work\, and the 
 importance of believing in yourself are highlighted in this story from the
  earliest moments of Nancy Kerrigan&rsquo\;s figure skating career.</p>\n<
