Sevigny is the author of \;Brave the Wild River& nbsp\;(W.W. Norton\, 2023)\, \;Mythical River \;(Universi ty of Iowa Press\, 2016)\, and \;Under Desert Skies \;(Un iversity of Arizona Press\, 2016). Her writing has appeared in \;Orion \, \;The Atavist Magazine\, River Teeth\, City Creatures\, Terrain.org \, Fourth Genre\, \;Flyway\, and elsewhere. She earned a B.S. in Envir onmental Science &\; Policy from the University of Arizona and an M.F.A . in Creative Writing and Environment from Iowa State University. Her lyri cal nonfiction explores the intersections of science\, nature\, and histor y\, with a focus on the American Southwest.

Brave the Wild River \;tells the couragous story of two botanists\, the expedition leader\, a zoologist and their boatmen who travailed the Colorado River in the 1930s\, documenting the then unidentified flowers and plants along th e demanding waterway that runs through the Grand Canyon. \;
