 acquainted with the most commonly used sources for genealogical research i
 n the Netherlands: civil registration\, population administration and pari
 sh records. Information is also given about the use of names\, the accessi
 bility of periods and (free) databases/websites.</p>\n<p>John Boeren has b
 een involved in genealogy since 1988. He studied Law at Tilburg University
  and later attended the School for Archivists and the International Instit
 ute for Genealogical Studies. Currently he is enrolled in the postgraduate
  program at the University of Strathclyde.</p>\n<p>In 2015 he started his 
 own genealogical business\, named Antecedentia. He offers research and her
 itage trips in the Netherlands and Flanders. He was a speaker at internati
 onal conferences\, wrote articles and worked for tv shows like Finding You
 r Roots.</p>\n<p>Since 2020 he has been on the board of the Association of
  Professional Genealogists. In 2023 the members elected him APG&rsquo\;s P
