Hailing from Eastern Kentucky's Appalachia n Mountains\, The McLain Family Band have become internationally known as one of the most spontaneous\, creative and spirited groups performing orig inal and traditional bluegrass music. Since 1968\, they have performed in 64 countries and all 50 states\, and are recipients of the International B luegrass Music Association's Distinguished Achievement Award. They have ap peared at Carnegie Hall\, the Metropolitan Museum of Art\, the Kennedy Cen ter\, the Lincoln Center\, and the Grand Ole Opry.
